What cFront do for IBM

We provided, for an internal department of IBM, an application to allow EDIFACT messages to be presented in a human readable form.

The application reads in the message, validates it against the EDIFACT schema, if available, and creates an XML representation of the message structure.

This is then used to create a human readable representation of the message.

It is primarily used for viewing invoices; it can also be used to check the validity of EDI messages.

As many messages / versions as are required can be installed into the program by providing schema definitions for them.

Technology

The application is a native Windows desktop application, written in .NET, using a custom EDI to XML parser written by cFront.
